Month of Geb

Full Moon

Change
Teaching: Benu

The last New Moon was focused on strength, grounding and conviction.  This Full Moon in Scorpio is the achievement of all of these things.  Adding these qualities, or any really, to Oneself requires adjustment and change.  Change that can leave one confused and scared.  The Benu bird is the Phoenix of the Aegyptians.  The bird that soared the heavens but then fell into the flames.  Falling into the flames is a feeling that most people have had and usually seems as though that is all that it is.  Death, and end.  But even death is not an end.  Falling into the flames, and even death itself is just a transition phase, a time of change.  These times of transition are quite difficult but One has the strength within Oneself that was developed on the previous New Moon.  The Benu bird is a reminder that the is the strength to overcome even death itself.  For after the fire and flames have died away and only embers remain, the Benu arises, refreshed and renewed.  One needs to keep in mind that transitions can not last forever.  They create something stronger then what was there before.  Learn from them, they are as inevitable as the stars in the heavens.
