Month of Aser

New Moon

Building
Teaching: The Djed Pillar

The Egyptian Neter of the Tuat and of the fields is Wser.  He is the archetype for this the first month of the Winter or resting season.  He is a symbol of cyclical death and rebirth.  His specific symbol is the Djed Pillar.  This is the backbone of Wser, and symbolizes our own.  On Fallow we laid down our Djed Pillars symbolically affirming that we are now going to mirror the earth’s cycles and temporarily cease our own growth, as spiritual people.  But this does not mean that we shall grow stagnant.  The Winter is a time for the Earth to replenish the nutrients in its soil.  So we too shall prepare our soils by spending this Winter out of active Spiritual Evolution to better understand the progress that we have made so far and will make in the future cycle.  Capricorn is a sign of stability and structure.  We should look to this sign for those kinds of influences and call upon those attributes to better support our backbones.  If we can have the strength of Capricorn as our support then the structure that we build within ourselves can never tumble.  Spend this New Moon learning what characteristics in yourself make you a stable person, spiritually, mentally, and physically, and amplify them.  Encourage their growth.  Also visualize your backbone as the Djed Pillar.  Let these meditations guide you into new discoveries about yourself.
