| Notice: [Newer Netscape Users] If you do not get a pop up dialog box with a "Save-As" dialog after left clicking or double left clicking when attempting to download a file: A. First try right clicking and select "Save as" or "Save Link Target as" [Worth trying in any Browser] B. If that doesn't work: 1. Open the Edit menu and choose Preferences. 2. Under the Navigator category, click Downloads. (If no subcategories are visible, double-click Navigator to expand the list.) [The Downloads preferences panel allows you to set up how Netscape handles files you download from web pages] Under: "When starting a download" Select: Open a progress dialog: [Select this to display a progress dialog box, which display the status for your current download] [The status of each download is kept in a separate window] 3. Click "Ok" to close the dialog. This should reset your browser to accommodate online file saving. Close all browser windows then relaunch. Notice: [Older Netscape Users] If you do not get a pop up dialog box with a "Save-As" dialog after left clicking or double left clicking when attempting to download a file: 1) Go to Options/General Preferences/Helpers 2) Scroll to File type "application/rtf" and click the radio button before "Unknown: Prompt User" 3) Click "Ok" to close the dialog. This should reset your browser to accommodate online file saving. |
